Midway between the journey of his life JP Marchant happily found himself within a forest dark, having lost his way off the straightforward path as a corporate drone in the oil & gas industry. The catalyst was a filmmaking course at FAVA in the summer of 2013. Since then he has worked on nearly a dozen independent film sets. He is currently wrapping up post-production on his third short film, The Hitch-Hiker. Though he still works in oil & gas, JP’s free time is spent talking about, watching, and producing movies. He admires the works of Guy Maddin, Deco Dawson, Bela Tarr, Ingmar Bergman, Yasujiro Ozu, and David Lynch. He currently lives in Lethbridge with his partner and their cat.
