situation of the lived body
Synopsis
Set at dusk in downtown Edmonton, the viewer is invited to embark on a journey through a range of urban spaces: from alleyways and well-lit streets to abandoned and decaying structures. Through an orchestrated set of videos, this work offers various perspectives as we move from place to place.
Through an experimental filmic process, which involves strapping three wearable video-recording devices to various points on my body, I am attempting to create a visual language that re-contextualizes and interprets the experience of walking through these urban spaces. With one placed at eye level, the second behind my right arm, and the last on my left ankle, I am hoping to capture the intimacy between my physical body and the environment.
