Call for Instructor – Video Kitchen
The Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta (FAVA) is accepting applications for a Video Kitchen Class Instructor for the upcoming Video Kitchen course.
Video Kitchen is sone of FAVA’s long-standing classes. It is a 12-class course that provides training in the basics of digital video production. Each participant will make their own short video, 4-6 minutes long.
Classes: Saturdays 10:00am – 2:00pm at FAVA
September 16 – December 9, 2017, with no class October 7
Instructor must be available to teach or facilitate all of the classes, shoots and editing sessions, provide all handouts and facilitate the completion of all projects. Remuneration is $40 per teaching hour (48 teach hours) and $40 per prep hour (48 prep hours), for a total of $3,840.
This course will have a Teaching Assistant, to be hired in consultation with the Instructor. There is a budget for four Guest Instructors, to be hired at the Instructor’s discretion.
Qualifications:
– knowledge and experience in digital video production and post-production
– post-secondary education in visual arts or film and video production, or equivalent experience
– teaching experience
Successful applicants will be able to teach both the creative and technical sides of digital filmmaking.
