The Spine Folds Far Away
Synopsis
The Spine Folds Far Away is an experimental dance film which explores body fragmentation through analog methods of distortion and image disruption. It juxtaposes pastoral and psychedelic images to draw out the tenuous nature of human embodiment, reminding us of our bizarre cosmic origins and our fundamental entanglement with our environments. As the image bends and refracts and sunlight breaks into floods of saturated reds, greens, and blues, we reencounter the body in its fleshy disobedience, its slippery disappearance. The Spine Folds Far Away envisions our bodies as errant smears across time and space at times barely visible and very far away.
