FAVA FEST culminates with FAVA GALA – and this year it’s one big house party! Join us at the Orange Hub to mix and mingle with Northern Alberta’s filmmakers, take a gamble on our silent auction, and discover all of the new facilities FAVA has to offer. We’ll celebrate the best of the festival with cash awards and honour film, video and media art in style.
Stick around after the awards for a closer look at FAVA headquarters. We’ll be revealing the results of our Super8 Challenge – one roll of film, in-camera editing only, and everyone sees it for the first time together! We also have a new work from FAVA member Scott Portingale “Across the land” – an experimental “one shot” time-lapse film that transports the viewer form one side of Canada (Alaska border) to the other (Cape Spear, Newfoundland).
Have you heard about FAVA’s newest addition to the tool crib? We’ll have a demo of our ARRI Alexa XT Plus so we can all dream big media arts dreams!
Join us as we shine a spotlight on the excellent work being made right here in Edmonton and Alberta.
