The Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta (FAVA) has developed it’s own online digital asset manager and library tool and is in the process of cataloging, digitizing, applying metadata and publishing to our public portal FAVATV.com. This lengthy and ongoing process is 2 years in the making and requires some assistance from students.
Tasks would include learning how to digitize a variety of formats such as DigiBeta, 3/4, DVCAM, VHS, HDCAM, MiniDV, DVD, DVCPRO. Once the content has been digitized it’s uploaded to our cloud app then organized and data is entered. The contact with the creator and permission is requested if the film will be private or public.
