Online Youth Filmmaking Camp

This 5-day film camp will introduce 11-to 15-year-olds to the basic technical and theoretical elements of visual storytelling. Participants will learn about camera angles, editing choices, lighting considerations and more, using examples from easily accessible age-appropriate films (i.e., Netflix). Participants will be assigned activities to illustrate filmmaking principles using a home smartphone and personal computer. Each day will include 1 hour of online instruction from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm and approximately 1-2 hours of offline assigned activities.

Meet your instructor: Holly Mazur
With upwards of 7 years of experience in project development, producing, shooting, and editing films, Holly is driven to create films that her clients will love.
She is an experienced teacher in the film community, leading introductory film courses at the Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta (FAVA), as well as providing mentorship for organizations: Amplify, Girls in Film and Television (GIFT), and Justice 4 Reel, among others.
