Edmonton Short Film: The Final Exam

Film Synopsis: The Final Exam is a classroom drama set in Turkey (filmed in Edmonton). When a devout young Muslim woman is asked to remove her headscarf in order to write a final exam at university, a male classmate finds a “strategic” way to guard her privacy so she can write the exam.

Lead Female Actor: Nazila

Non-speaking Role. Familiarity with Muslim devotional practice an asset

Nazila is a devout young Muslim woman attending university in Turkey. Her religious practice involves wearing a headscarf, which she is compelled to remove in order to write a final exam.
NOTE: actor’s headscarf WILL NOT be removed during filming – privacy will be protected.
Lead Male Actor: Ibrahim
Age: 22-28
Ethnicity: Turkic or Middle Eastern descent
3-line speaking role; ability to speak Turkish an asset

Ibrahim is a devout young Muslim man attending university in Turkey. He is popular with his classmates and enlists their cooperation to protect Nazila’s privacy.
