Class Payment and Cancellation Policy
Your enrollment in any class is not guaranteed until payment is received. Classes must be paid for at least one week before the first class. You may cancel your enrollment in a class one week before the first class without charge. Cancellations made less than a week before the first class will be refunded the full amount less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations made after the first class will be refunded the tuition less a $50 cancellation fee and the appropriate portion of the total tuition for the one class you attended. You must cancel before the date of the second class to receive a refund. All classes are subject to cancellation if there are insufficient registered participants. We will notify you regarding cancellation at least one week before the first class. If we cancel the class, you are entitled to a full refund or you may transfer to another scheduled class, space permitting.

The FAVA Free For All is an ongoing series of one-off workshops that are FREE for our membership. Workshops are topical and range from beginner to professional levels. They could introduce you to new gear, best practices, aesthetics and techniques, or just about anything. Make sure to contact FAVA Programming and register for a FAVA Free For All, spaces are limited for each workshop.

Filmmaker Series: Alex MacKenzie Workshop & Performance
Looking to learn how to use a specific piece of equipment or brush up your your skills in a certain area? If there isn’t a class or a workshop covering what you are interested in learning, FAVA members can contact our Director of Programming at firstname.lastname@example.org, to set up one-on-one, member-to-member training through our Access to Artists program.
Shoot some film! We dare you! Included in the cost of your registration you’ll get: a three-hour workshop on shooting super8; one roll of super8 film (one only! It’s a challenge!); a weekend rental of a super8 camera (or use your own if you have one); FAVA pays for shipping to the lab, film development, and transfer of all the films to a digital file. See your masterpiece for the very first time alongside the other challenge participants at FAVA’s summer BBQ. Crank up your nerve and come have some fun shooting film.
FAVA supports local, national, and international artists in the creation of new work, providing facilities, materials and financial support for an artist in residence. The Artist in Residence is then responsible for some of the following residency components:
The Society established an endowment fund in 2012 and has contributed to it in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The fund is administered by the Edmonton Community Foundation. The purpose of the fund is to create an investment resource that will help sponsor artist training, production and distribution far into Alberta’s future.
