Makeup artistry, writing, set decoration, wardrobe, assistant director, stage management
Corinne (Been) is the owner and lead makeup artist at her company VampireNomad Palette. She works in a wide array of beauty and theatrical techniques but her special interest is in fantasy, horror, and SFX looks. She has worked on the runway for Vancouver Fashion Week SS15, as lead MUA for Andrea Beça’s short film THE DISAPPEARING ACT, and was nominated for a 2017 Best Makeup Rosie Award by AMPIA for her work on THE HELLEVATOR PROJECT for Group of Rogues. Outside of makeup she has years of experience in stage management in New Zealand in everything from the touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s STARLIGHT EXPRESS to Michael Parmenter’s dance production TENT. During her years in the Wellington theatre scene she works in varied arenas; from lighting design and operation to sound operation to tour management. Most recently she completed work as AD/makeup design on Andrea Beça’s Storyhive film NIGHTWALK, as key makeup/wardrobe/hair/set design on Sylvia Douglas’ THE BRINK, and as writer/actor/set design on STAY – a one-minute horror short accepted into the 2018 Gotta Minute Film Festival and co-created with Sylvia Douglas and Greg deJong. Corinne is diving back into writing, working on translating her stageplay into a screenplay, and wants to work on as many artistic projects in as many creative roles as possible. Dream big. Collaborate with creatives souls.
