Merging my technical and creative backgrounds, I look forward to producing work in both Canada and Europe.
Familiar with the cultures of both North America and Europe, my artistic perspective occupies the gap between them. I bring to my filmmaking considerable life experience. I grew up close to the streets and am intimately familiar with the complex and dark realities of urban living in a multi-racial/ethnic/cultural society.
Furthermore, I am presently living the “reality” of a New Canadian, experiencing on a daily basis the hope and disappointment shared by people caught between worlds.
I have been directing for TV a number of shows for Discovery, Fox, CTV, CanalVie, CanalD, CBC, while pursuing my independent productions as well; I was formerly employed by the Italian public broadcaster, RAI (Radio Televisione Italiana). I come from the cam-department where I have more than fifteen years experience as a steadicam and camera operator in drama, documentary and news.
Back in the days, the camera work paid for my studies, primarily conducted at the University of Pavia, but for practical reasons I completed my degree at the University of Torino. Have then attended and graduated in Animation and Film in North America, having completed both the Film Program and 2d Animation Program at the Vancouver Film School and have further pursued animation at the Animation Workshop in Denmark. Last I have recently graduated in Education Sciences at the University of Montreal (UdM), looking forward to teach and develop an affordable on-line film-school in the years to come.
