Metro Cinema is Edmonton’s community movie house, dedicated to the presentation of film and video in many forms. We program and host a thousand events each year at the historic Garneau Theatre.
Metro is seeking a passionate and organized film lover to take on a part time position in our programming department. Duties will include coordination of film traffic, liaison with distributors and Alberta Film Classification, and the maintenance of information in our film database. This position will assist Metro Cinema’s programmer, Pete Harris.
The successful applicant must be comfortable with both self-directed and team-based work. A familiarity with film as an industry and an art form, strong writing skills and experience with database and spreadsheet software are all assets. It is estimated that this position will initially require 15-20 hours per week, scheduled to mutual convenience on weekday daytimes, and with a possible expansion of hours as the position develops. This position pays $12.20 per hour.
Metro Cinema welcomes all applicants; however, it should be noted that our workspace at the Garneau Theatre is a heritage structure and not wheelchair accessible. Applications and questions may be sent in confidence to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for applications is January 7th, 2017 at 5pm.
