ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

Artist in Residence Program

FAVA supports national artists in the creation of new work, providing facilities, materials and financial support for an artist in residence. Preference will be given to established artists who have completed a body of film or video work, and whose proposed work can be accessed within the time and facilities allotted. The residence will also include a workshop lead by the artist, a screening of the artist's work, and a select number of one-on-one sessions with FAVA member artists. The duration of a residence is not less than ten days and not more than six weeks.

Interested artists are asked to submit a proposal which includes a current CV, project description and timeline, script, storyboard or treatment, formats to be used, budget and a description of a possible workshop or presentation that the artist would facilitate. The Artist in Residence will receive a free one-year membership, an honorarium of not less than $1000, and access to FAVA's equipment and facilities. Artists are encouraged to seek additional funding to support larger projects or to extend their stay. Accommodation and a per diem will be negotiated.

Artist Talks

FAVA always welcomes visiting artists. Contact us if you are interested in presenting at our center, or if you know of someone coming to town that FAVA might be interested in contacting.
